Use the temporary location
The city says the former Copper Cliff Fire Hall is the temporary shelter while a permanent facility is developed. This guide uses the new address, not an older shelter listing elsewhere online. Call 705-694-PETS(7387) or email cgs.shelter@greatersudbury.ca.
Published hours do not remove the appointment requirement for adoptions. A holiday closure also overrides a normal weekday or weekend timetable.

What the shelter does
The shelter provides temporary care for dogs and cats found injured, abandoned or roaming. Reuniting them with their owners is the first goal. When an owner cannot be found or declines recovery, animals may be adopted directly or through rescue and welfare partners.
The city accepts suitable product donations and volunteer time. Contact the shelter about current needs and arrangements, rather than leaving unrequested supplies outside.

Lost-pet research route
The city’s lost-and-found page links found-pet and deceased-pet listings and advises alerting as many people as possible. It does not provide a complete missing-pet investigation process in the captured body. Contact the shelter for current intake and matching information.
This guide does not repeat the shelter page’s veterinary advice or imply that seeing a listed animal proves ownership. Staff must confirm the animal and appropriate handover.
